I will cover highlights of my presentation about print’s power in Friday’s blog.
However, among the images I will be showing are these from Sunday, October 20’s The New York Times print edition.
It is a spectacular, giant 8-page supplement that opens up like an accordion in the middle to advertise the opening of a new Nordstrom Department Store in Manhattan.
This is not the first time Nordstrom has used the Times to promote its stores.
You can’t do this as effectively—not the bigness of it—on digital or mobile.
So, advertising departments at newspapers everywhere need to come up with aggressive initiatives to make sure that even the most local advertisers realize what print products can do for them.
To me one top item in a check list of the Power of Print has to be the ability to do advertising supplements like the one here. Take a look:
