This week I am traveling in Spain and the press kiosks display show those sport daily favorites As and Marca. Both are icons of sports journalism and the die hard sports fans can’t get enough of the color, the big headlines, the details about games and the personal lives of sports heroes.
I confess that I am not an avid sports fan for any particular sport or team. But the sports newspapers always lure me. I guess you could say that my sports is more the newspapers than the sports events. I like the energy of the sports newspapers, the focus on their adoring audience, and how color and volume are used to stop the reader cold on his tracks.
Indeed, these newspapers in their printed editions shine in their own way and it is difficult to duplicate the tension and the excitement that the printed double pages can bring in digital editions.
Take a look at As and Marca.
I truly hope that these printed editions never cease to be. I feel that these are games that can go on forever. Hope the fans feel the same way.
