TAKEAWAY: It was a great 10 days in beautiful and scenic Longboat Key, Florida with the entire family. Now back to work. COMING TOMORROW: The launch of the Hindustantimes in Delhi, INdia. ALSO: Pure Design continues
I sit in the patriarch’s chair (center) with my grandsons David (r) and Jack, while the rest of my children, their spouses, and the other 8 grandchildren surround us for a family portrait with the Gulf of Mexico as our backdrop.
When the basic Garcia family gathers, it is already 19 of us, my four children, their spouses, and my 10 grandkids. So I have had plenty of company, especially of little ones, during the past few days; always someone asking me to go shell collecting, or to go into the ocean, or OUT of the ocean; the older ones would take breaks to watch an occasional DVD or play that never ending Wii game, which keeps the youngsters in motion while they aim for the television screen.
I was the early riser, doing daily runs on the beach, which in this part of Florida allows you to see the most beautiful, crystaline sea water. Good weather accompanied us for most of the vacation, except for one stormy day.
For anyone looking for the quieter side of Florida, with guaranteed sunshine, and perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, I certainly recommend Longboat Key.
We will resume the serious stuff here tomorrow Monday, with a review of the newly launched and rethought Hindustantimes of Delhi, India, as well as with the continuation of Pure Design, the book.
Happy Sunday, good to be back.
