Targeted e-mail Marketing

A few years ago, I was looking at Miles Davis CD on Amazon. I noticed a small button that said “Tell me when a new Miles Davis CD is released.”

Marketing guru Seth Godin calls this “permission-based marketing.” The concept has changed Web sites and online marketing dramatically. One of the most efficient and cost-effective ways of reaching customers is with editorially driven, html e-mails. Currently we’re creating them for three clients:

Marketing guru Seth Godin calls this “permission-based marketing.” The concept has changed Web sites and online marketing dramatically. One of the most efficient and cost-effective ways of reaching customers is with editorially driven, html e-mails. Currently we’re creating them for three clients:

Bank Client Connect allows small banks to send out a custom e-mail magazine to their clients. Each month, they receive an issue, with the bank’s branding, filled with strategic planning and practical advice. The bank’s custom content appears alongside knowledgeable articles on small business, college saving, retirement, and more. Each article is designed to get readers to pick up the phone and call for more details.(bankclientconnect.com)

The REIT Report, an e-mail magazine sent to financial analysts, is filled with news articles and recommendations from money managers and other analysts. The magazine is supported by advertising and is directed to analysts who specifically have shown interest in REIT investments. (thereitreport.com)

California Wine Portfolio is a new e-commerce wine site. The difference between the Portfolio and the plethora of other wine sites is a unique e-mail strategy. Each month, an issue is sent to a small, targeted audience of financial advisers and money managers who have shown an interest in wine. Valuable content about the wine industry, paired with good deals on hard-to-find wines, makes the Portfolio extremely compelling to the audience. (californiawineportfolio.com)
