With many still sad (and angry) that the beautifully designed Independent will cease publication as a printed newspaper next month, now the happy news that New Day, a new print-only——yes, you heard that right, New Day will not have an online presence——will appear just about the same time in the UK.
The publisher of The Daily Mirror has announced that he will unveil New Day, a tabloid, February 29.
Trinity Mirror is said to be preparing to commit to a print run for New Day of around one million copies.
Not too shabby and reason to celebrate.
We will be watching with great expectation to see what this new product looks like. And, more importantly, can a print-only newspaper hit the spot in 2016?
