There is something to be said for efficiency and speed when it comes to communicating stories—even the most complicated ones. The technology allows to tell stories effectively sometimes following very simple patterns.
Take this example from the home page of The New York Times last week. While navigating us to a story about the pending decision at the White House: whether President Trump will pull out of the Paris agreement for climate xxxxxxxx, the simple visuals tell us what key advisers to the President are in favor of staying or leaving.
