Print and those ad supplements

Those mega, good paying ad supplements are heaven sent for print editions of newspapers. See this one from El Pais of Spain.

While traveling in Spain this past week I encountered this 8-page, broadsheet format ad for the new Opel car in the Sunday edition of El Pais.

 

 

And because El Pais is in a small tabloid format, this Ad was basically added to the Sunday package and it did overlap around the main edition of the newspaper and the Sunday magazine.

 

 

We have seen similar 8-page ad supplements in The New York Times, via Nordstrom store.

 

 

 

 

 

Obviously, there is a market among printed newspapers for this type of oversized, multi page ad supplements.  Inventive advertising departments in traditional media houses take to the challenge, and present these type of ads as possibilities that command great attention—and which pay a premium.
