Magazine Design

These days, a magazine redesign means more than pretty pictures and nice fonts.

These days, a magazine redesign means more than pretty pictures and nice fonts.

Through interviews, focus groups, eyetracking studies, and plain old experience, we’ve developed a series of simple, targeted design strategies to get people to pick up your magazine and spend more time with it. For Oracle, this meant adding a complete index of stories to the cover; for Vanity Fair it meant creating sparse, iconic covers to stand out from the clutter. For each project, we analyze the entire reader experience—from page architecture to book pacing—and develop a user-friendly, easily navigable and strongly branded design.

Case studies:
Momentum
Oracle
TV Guide
Friday
Zeit Punkte
American Spectator
Hispanic Business
Esquire
Vanity Fair
Far Eastern Economic Review
