Aretha Franklin was THE voice.
She was not only a gifted singer who, as someone recalled on CNN, “sang the soundtrack of our lives”, but she was also an activist for civil rights and women’s issues. She died in her Detroit home August 16. I will be compiling pages from newspapers around the world as they paid tribute to this greatest of American artists, one who has definitely impacted all of us and will continue to do so through her music.
If your newspaper has done a special Aretha Franklin treatment, please send me jpeg or pdf to mario@garciamedia.com
