A week to celebrate print

Two iconic publications have returned in print this month. Reason to get that bottle of champagne out of the refrigerator and toast print products.

It may be mere coincidence, but I am delighted that the week we discussed print and its future in my Columbia University class, two iconic print products have made a comeback: in New York City, we now see The Village Voice in newspaper racks. It is free, too.

In Spain, one of the most celebrated supplements, Metropoli, published by the daily newspaper El Mundo, of Madrid, has returned after a one-year hiatus from publication.

While I would love to hear the reasons executives at these editorial houses have to bank on print, I am delighted with their decision.

We wrote about the return of The Voice here this week.

Here is the new Metropoli, the El Mundo supplement about food and leisure. This special issue is devoted to Spanish gastronomy.

Metropoli has always been a darling of designers everywhere. This return edition is no exception, as we can see in the spreads that follow:
