We are used to creative art directing on the front pages (and elsewhere) in the French newspaper Liberation.
This week, as riots broke over Central Paris, with cars and Christmas trees set afire, it was a group of extremists who joined what was described as a “calm” demonstration by 5000 “yellow vest” protesters gathered to denounce President Emmanuel Macron’s fuel tax increases.
This front page of Libe turned yellow for the occasion, with an image that shows a glimpse of Macron’s face, and the one word headline: Submerged.
A page we like: Effective, thoughtful and full of visual impact.
