Fun visual storytelling from The Washington Post

This is what linear, “very” visual storytelling can do best: a feature that shows us how something familiar–a food truck—works and what happens inside of it. Well done, Washington Post.

I am adding this one to my collection. What a fun feature piece, and so well presented with text and images.

The piece starts with a highly animated gif that shows what happens inside a food truck.

The summary paragraph:

The ceiling is low, the heat is high, the bathroom is missing. But serious cooks are at work here.

Then it continues with the basics of what is required in a food truck:

I like the combination of photo images, video and infographics. I also think that the subheads to move the story along work nicely.

Visual storytelling at its best.
