Trump bombshell news lands on the front pages

An exclusive breaking news report by the Washington Post cites government officials who reportedly say the President discussed classified information with Russians.

Updated in Tampa, Florida, Tuesday, May 17 at 20:55

Moments after I posted this blog there was another breaking news story of consequence involving President Trump:

Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation

It was another day of chaos and confusion at the White House.

It was another Breaking News alert, or two or three on my Apple Watch. Perhaps we are growing immune to the Trump crisis of the day, but I have to admit that this one made me stand in attention.

The Washington Post broke the bombshell news report stating that government officials told the newspaper that  President Trump discussed classified information with Russians. The New York Times followed the Post soon after with the same story.

Another investigation begins. I have lost track of how many of those investigations are taking place at the moment, and I know that journalists and the American public are as confused as I am about all the investigations.  The firing of FBI Director James B. Comey, which happened last week, seems like a remote happening.

The lead story of the day

One after the other, even small regional US newspapers had the story of President Trump and his meeting with the Russians in the White House prominently displayed on Page One, as you can see here.
