I will be one of the speakers today in the WAN IFRA North America Digital Media Conference in New York City , an event which will be attended by more than 150 executives, publishers and editors from around the world.

The Conference emphasizes digital transformation with topics ranging from newsroom strategies, better storytelling for mobile devices and monetization efforts.  Among the sessions:

  • Transformation Stories beyond North America

How the world’s leading news media companies are developing sustainable new revenues

    Paying for quality

Great journalism is driving global success of freemium and hybrid meter paywalls. The details are more important than ever.

Better Ads and the Value of Context

As programmatic stumbles, the rise of branded content and new partnership approaches to compete with Facebook and Google.

My own presentation is titled 2017—the year storytelling (finally) adapted to the platform and it will cover how we tell stories in what I call the “journalism of everywhereness and interruptions”, linear storytelling, the importance of e-newsletters and briefings and the role of print in a digital world.

For those interested, I will be highlighting parts of all presentations during the course of the two-day conference via Tweeter, @DrMarioRGarcia
