Times of Oman and the Rio Games: Pure Design Gold

This is the third of our series about how media companies enter the “competition” to capture the attention of the audience during the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Take a look at what those talented designers from the Times of Oman have done to introduce the event to their readers.

At the Times of Oman, It;s another remarkable show of design strength, visual storytelling and making the most to showcase a major event and do it differently.

The art department of the Times of Oman, directed by Adonis Durado, is one of the most award winning globally. And, as we see here, we know why those hundreds of SND and other awards are justified.

According to Adonis , art director,  Times of Oman, this was another example of team effort:

“This 8-page Olympic supplement was spearheaded by Jorge Cortes, our Deputy Graphic Editor. It took us one month to plan out the content and visual treatment, as well in getting sponsor. I think the highlight of this supplement is the spread about the Rio Olympic torch spread where we printed it in its actual size and showing its concept and mechanism.”
