May. 17th I, too, was one of the Pedro Pans

TAKEAWAY: The Miami Herald is sponsoring Operation Pedro Pan Database which lists 14,048 names of unaccompanied children between 6 and 17 who arrived alone in the U.S. between 1960 and 1962. Parents were getting their children out of Cuba, fearing communist indoctrination spreading in private and public schools. I know the story. I am one of those on the list.

TAKEAWAY: A recent study completed by the Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC), along with the World Association of Newspapers (WAN), reassures us that there is a future—-and even a bright one—-for publishers who are willing to push digital to the front of their priorities. Nothing that we have not recommended through this blog repeatedly, but this study reaffirms the notion.
