Sep. 24th Center of Visual Impact: where the eye goes first on page or screen

Sep. 21st Adieu, Futura, it’s Verdana for Ikea
TAKEAWAY: Add “Save Futura” to the list of available causes to which you can add your name on Facebook and elsewhere. When Swedish furniture solutions store Ikea switched its preferred font from Futura to Verdana, one could hear the gasps from one end of the living room all the way to the basement study. Sep. 18th The free newspaper of the future? Here are some ideas
TAKEAWAY: That London free newspaper, thelondonpaper, closes today, but you would not know it if you read its digital edition. Will someone miss the lively barely 3-year-old newspaper? This is a good opportunity to “rethink” free newspapers, as their role, content and purpose may change quite dramatically in the next few years. Time to create free newspapers that become indispensable. And, who knows, maybe they will go from “free” to at least 20 cents. Why not?
