Another day, another Trump bombshell for the front pages

It’s all happened within the same week: first Trump allegedly revealed intelligence secrets to his visiting Russian guests. That dominated the front pages. One day later: another Trump bombshell.

This is the weekend edition of TheMarioBlog and will be updated as needed. The next blog post is Monday, May 22.

It’s another busy day for editors in US newspapers. It’s also another day with President Trump dominating the news, this time over allegations that he asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn.

The front pages tell the story, some in bold all caps headlines, all on Page One.

The tabloids have had the most fun with the headlines.

When the cover is a “type attack”

This cover of Bloomberg Businessweek goes for the type attack: that is when the art director decides that just typography will carry the day and convey the impact of the cover story.  Good  job.
